The traffic of heavy vehicles at the intersection of Southwell Blvd. and US 41S was causing rutting to be a constant problem on this road. The Georgia Department of Transportation District Four decided to replace the asphalt pavement with concrete as a permanent solution. P2K milled existing asphalt pavement and installed 9-inch-thick full depth PCC pavement in all travel lanes. Also, PCC joint sealing was installed, loop detection replaced, and striping performed over the new concrete surface at the intersection.
