DeKalb County has established a Sidewalk Program whose goal is to construct the required infrastructure to improve pedestrian safety. As part of this program, P2K will build 5-foot sidewalks with 2-foot grass strips, curb and gutter to fill in the voids between the existing sidewalk segments to provide connectivity along Flat Shoals Road from the intersection of Second Avenue to Whites Mill Road. And Henderson Road, from Henderson Mill Road’s junction to the junction of La Vista Road, and at Salem Road from the corner of Panola Road to Fannin Drive. Also, this project includes a timber boardwalk and a pedestrian bridge along Henderson Road. The projects have a total gross length of 3.81 miles, where time constraints are very challenging, so several crews and skilled personnel will be allocated to this project.
