The traffic of heavy vehicles in the intersection of Southwell Blvd. and US 41S has caused rutting to be a constant problem in this road. As a permanent solution, the Georgia Department of Transportation District Four has decided to replace the asphalt pavement for concrete. P2K milled existing asphalt pavement and installed 9-inch-thick full depth PCC pavement in all travel lanes. Also, PCC joint sealing was installed, loop detection was replaced, and striping was performed over the new concrete surface at the intersection.
